Scholarships & Awards at SLITHM

SCHOLARSHIPS

SLITHM is a Government institution. A limited number of Scholarships are available for students from low income families. Eligibility criteria for awarding scholarships is given below.

Criteria

  • Students should be registered for courses at SLITHM
  • Students should not be employed or engaged in any other higher educational study.
  • Age Limit: below 40 years of age.
  • Parental income ceiling should be equal to or less than Rs. 30,0000 per year, with the relevant concessions per annum added to the income ceiling. This requirement will not be applicable for uniforms and transport.

(Students will be required to provide a letter from a Gramasevaka which is certified by Divisional Secretariat to verify the annual parental income).

Scholarships will be awarded to selected students under following categories;

  • Transport Charges
  • Uniforms
  • Course Fee
  • Accommadation
  • Full Scholarship (Course Fee + Accomadation Charges)

Further you are instructed to open a Savings Account at Bank of Ceylon (BOC) of any branch an have to submit accounts confirmation letter from the bank. (This is a compulsory requirement). For more information, Please contact Registrar Office on 0112382201-13
